Rooibos Tea/Red Tea Rooibos Tea, a traditional drink from South African is naturally caffeine free. Also know as Red Tea or Rooibosh Tea. Rooibos tea is generally harvested during the summer months in Southern Africa. The tea is handpicked and then bruised and cut. When picked Rooibos is still green in colour. The next stage of fermentation turns the tea red. Rooibos is safe to have at night and is an ideal healthy thirst quencher for children as it contains no caffeine. The tea can be drunk as it, or with milk and honey. It is an ideal base for making herbal teas as it naturally decaffeinated and contains no preservatives or colours.
